課程概述

近年來知識論與心智哲學的討論中一個重要主題是「關於第一人稱之識別錯誤的免疫性」(immunity to error through misidentification relative to first person pronoun)與自我知識(self-knowledge)之間的關係。包括：（1）根據Shoemaker所提出的「第一人稱識別錯誤之免疫性」原則，關於經驗的內容（content），我們可能會弄錯（如：眼前鏡子的那個人是不是我？我現在到底是覺得痛，還是覺得癢？）但是對於知道自己是否為該經驗的當事者（subject），我們絕不會弄錯。這種免疫性是不是自我知識的根本性質之一？（2）這種免疫性與自我知識之間的關係是什麼？意識經驗提供了對於外在世界之感覺性的（sensory）且立即的識察（awareness），自我知識則使得認知者以某種方式知道自己的的心理內容。這兩者是否根本上是彼此獨立的，還是說兩者在本質上有密切關聯？更具體而言，如果要對自我知識的特性有完整的說明，是否必須訴諸於某種特定的免疫性原則才行？（3）假設自我知識本質上擁有識別錯誤之免疫性，那麼這兩者究竟是以什麼方式關聯在一起？那一個理論能對此提供最好的解釋？我們將會結合哲學經驗科學來討論這些議題。

課程目標

本課程主要探討關於第一人稱觀點的免疫性原則及自我知識的特性，將研讀關於兩者的多方哲學討論。包括多種版本免疫性原則的適用理論、討論關於內省及關於知覺的免疫性質的差異、及不同自我知識理論針對各種免疫原則的解釋及相容性。目標是學生藉由評估各個理論的優缺點，發展出自己的哲學立場。

課程要求

每週針對進度進行討論，於期中繳交五頁小論文一篇，期末繳交十五頁論文一篇。
